The importance of using the correct engine oil
Engine oil is vital to ensure the optimal performance of your vehicle; it needs the right amount to keep it running smoothly while avoiding any expensive repairs. Primarily, its main function is to lubricate moving parts; it also cleans the engine, inhibits corrosion, improves sealing, and cools the engine by carrying heat away from moving parts. Engine oil disperses heat and reduces wear, protecting the engine.
If you are looking to optimize the performance of your vehicle, its essential that you get your oil right. Using the correct oil keeps your engine running smoothly.
On top of this, the correct oil prevents deposits building up by keeping them in suspension. Motor oil even protects against sludge and fights oxidation, keeping the oil fresh and minimizing acids which can cause corrosion.
Why you should use Q8 Oils

Q8Oils produces a range of products matched to your vehicle requirements; ask your service agent or Circle K staff member for further details.
Using the wrong oil
Without frequent oil changes, deposits can build up in the engine. Old stagnant/dirty oil won’t lubricate the moving parts as well as new fresh oil will. Using the wrong engine oil increases exhaust pressure causing increased fuel consumption. The wrong oil can also block the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) in your car which and can be quite expensive to repairing some cases it can cost thousands of euro. In some cases incorrect oil can breach vehicle warranty, and where applicable can result in your vehicle requiring early servicing due to due to filter blocking and oil thickening.
