Circle K awards €5,000 in cash to Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club

Monday 8th October 2018 – Circle K, Ireland’s largest fuel and convenience retailer, is delighted to announce that Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club has been drawn as one of the winners in its 2018 Cash for Clubs initiative, with €5,000 in cash being awarded to the club.

Circle K is Ireland’s largest fuel and convenience retailer with 420 sites nationwide. Being at the heart of local communities across the country, Circle K recognises the vital role that clubs play in providing opportunities for people of every age to learn new skills, socialise and be active. Given the challenges clubs across Ireland face when it comes to vital fundraising, Circle K Cash for Clubs has been designed to give clubs the opportunity to generate much-needed funds by harnessing the support of their members and the local community.

After signing up to Cash for Clubs, members collected tokens by simply topping up with miles fuel at Ireland’s leading forecourt and convenience retailer. This year, Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club was selected as the lucky winner of a €5,000 cash prize.

In 2018, over 3,000 clubs registered for Cash for Clubs. Since its launch in 2015, the initiative has invested over €400,000 in clubs nationwide.

Sinead Moriarty, PR and Communications Manager at Circle K Ireland, said: “Circle K Cash for Clubs was set up five years ago to recognise and reward the contribution made by clubs to their local communities. Since then, over 3,000 clubs from all corners of the island have registered to participate in the initiative and we have awarded over €400,000 in cash funding to 450 worthy recipients to date. As part of this year’s campaign, we are thrilled to award €5,000 to Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club, a deserving winner.

“With 420 stations and a forecourt in every county nationwide, Circle K plays a fundamental role in Irish communities, so we are delighted to have the opportunity to support clubs with their fundraising efforts. We would like to extend our congratulations to Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club and we hope that the prize money will help them to make a difference to their community in the coming years.”
