Circle K announces the return of Cash for Clubs

04/07/2018

Circle K (formerly Topaz) is continuing its commitment to communities across Ireland with the return of Cash for Clubs, the programme that provides clubs with cash funding.

Over the past four years, Circle K has invested over €500,000 in clubs, groups and initiatives right across the island of Ireland in an effort to support the causes that matter most to its customers.

With over 420 stores nationwide, Circle K is very much at the heart of communities and recognises the contribution made by grassroots clubs and groups to the locality. As such, with Cash for Clubs, Circle K endeavours to provide hard-working club members with an extra lift in their fundraising efforts.

By simply swiping a Play Or Park loyalty card with every fuel purchase made at any Circle K or Topaz location, customers can collect and pledge their tokens to a club, group or cause of their choice, using the PlayorPark app or through playorpark.ie. Once their nominated club has hit the 500 token collection mark, they will be automatically entered into a draw to win cash prizes.

This year’s competition will see all clubs that meet the 500 token threshold guaranteed to receive at least €500 for their efforts. All qualifying clubs will be included in a grand prize draw with runner-up prizes of €5,000 on offer and a grand prize of €10,000 going to one lucky overall winner.

Judy Glover, Market Director of Circle K Ireland said: “At Circle K, we’re committed to going the extra mile for our customers in every way, be it through our award-winning service or best in class product range. Cash for Clubs has been an important initiative for us over the past number of years as a means of giving back to our entire network of customers, right across the country.”

“This year will be no different as we look to bring our overall investment in communities through Cash for Clubs in excess of €500,000 over the past four years. We’re proud to support the causes and interests of our customers and look forward to doing so again in 2018 with the latest edition of Cash for Clubs under the Circle K name.”

Ruth McDonagh of Bray Hockey Club, Cash for Clubs 2017 Grand Prize winners added: “Cash for Clubs has been a huge benefit to Bray Hockey Club, not just last year, but over the past few years. We have a very committed and hard-working network of members and supporters who are responsible for our prize wins in 2017 and 2016, getting behind the cause and seeing us over the line.”

“Fundraising is not easy for clubs, particularly smaller clubs and so-called minority sports clubs in particular, however, Cash for Clubs is a simple and accessible way for clubs like ourselves to secure the kind of cash investment that makes a huge difference in the day-to-day upkeep and longer-term development of a club.”

“We’re all excited to see the competition return under the Circle K umbrella and will ensure we’re in the mix again this year!”

Registration for Cash for Clubs 2018 is now open. Clubs and customers can register online via playorpark.ie or on the PlayorPark app.

The competition will go live from July 4th, and run for 6 weeks before prize winners will be announced.
