PLAY or PARK 1st Experience of a Lifetime Winner!

Drogheda man claims Topaz’s first Play or Park Experience of a Lifetime.

PLAY or PARK 1st Winner

Richard Smith from Drogheda has won a holiday of a lifetime after he became the first winner of Topaz’s new Play or Park loyalty game.

Richard Smith from Grangerath Drogheda was overjoyed to hear that he and his wife Linda will be jetting off to The Maldives in a few months time. The 46 year old, who is a service engineer with a medical company, said he had never won anything in his life!

“I’m a regular customer at Topaz Coolfore in Ashbourne. If I’m not filling up I’m dropping in for a coffee and I know all the staff. They were joking with me that I’d win. I’ve never been to the Maldives but we are really looking forward to it and we’re game for some scuba diving” Richard said.

Richard was presented with his prize by Topaz’s new Brand Ambassador, former Irish rugby international Alan Quinlan and the Company’s Marketing and Corporate Services Director Paul Candon.

Paul Candon said everyone at Topaz was delighted for Richard and Linda and wished them well on their travels.  “The objective of Play or Park was to come up with a unique and fun way of rewarding customers for their loyalty. Every month we’ll be giving away an experience of a lifetime; be it a shopping trip to New York with three friends (with €8,000 spending money), a new car (with free fuel for a year), a tour of various Michelin starred restaurants around Europe, or a trip to Thailand. The key difference with other loyalty schemes is that everyone who plays each month is eligible for a complimentary Topaz Treat eg: coffee and muffin, car wash etc. So all our regular customers are winners” Candon said.

Topaz, which is the country’s largest fuels and convenience retailer, launched Play or Park in early February and already 75,000 people have registered to play it.

To enter the game customers collect points which enable them to PLAY for an experience of a lifetime prize every month –or they can choose to PARK them and carry them forward to participate in a following month’s game.

Candon pointed out that there is also a very important charity element to the game; “Every quarter players can opt to play for a donation to a local charity of their choice and a cash prize for themselves. Topaz will match all those donations with a donation to our own charity partner Aware, which is doing tremendous work helping those suffering from depression” he said.
