Topaz and eircom team up to launch WiFiHub
Topaz has partnered with eircom to rollout eircom WiFiHub in 110 Topaz service stations across the country. The service allows people who call into an eircom WiFiHub enabled Topaz station to access the internet from their smartphones, tablets or laptops.
Users can use the service to access the internet to check emails, look up directions, access files, surf the net or chat online as they move around the country. To access the services customers simply need to log on to the eircom WiFiHub page. First time users need to register to use the service, once this has been completed users can automatically log on at any eircom WiFiHub hotspot. Users can also download the free eircom WiFiHub app which is available from the Android and Apple stores.
eircom broadband, eMobile and Meteor customers can access the internet for free at any of the WiFiHub enabled Topaz petrol stations. eircom landline and non-eircom customers can also avail of the service, the first 10 minutes are free and then there is a flat rate charge of 1.00 which will allow users to access the service up until midnight that day. This is fantastic value as users can log on to the eircom WiFiHub service at various Topaz locations on the same day.
Elaine Robinson, Director of Products and Strategy, eircom said We are delighted to partner with Topaz to bring the eircom WiFiHub service to people as they travel around Ireland. This service will not only benefit the large workforce of reps, drivers and those travelling for business meetings but also the recreational traveller who wishes to use the internet to help break up a long journey, access information on the destination they are travelling too or look for directions. We are committed to rolling out the eircom WiFiHub service at convenient locations so that everyone can enjoy the service whenever they need it. We already have over 1,500 WiFi hotspots around the country including at locations such as Dublin Airport. As the popularity of smartphones and tablets increases the need for widely available WiFi will continue to grow.
Paul Candon, Director of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Topaz said the Company was focused on enhancing the customer experience and the latest initiative with eircom was part of that process. We are constantly looking at ways of improving the services on offer at our service stations and providing internet access for all our customers via eircom WiFiHub is the latest element of that process. Whether its for business or recreational use, our customers will now be able to access the internet while grabbing a coffee or a tasty snack at anyone of our 120 company owned sites nationwide. And by accessing our recently launched Topaz App customers will be able to find the Topaz site nearest to them, get a mapped route to that site as well as availing of a mileage check facility and regular Special App offers Candon concluded.
